ACE²-EU Volunteers Arrive at the Latvian Academy of Culture
This summer, the ACE²-EU European University Alliance's volunteering programme ACE RISE (Reach, Inspire, Serve, Engage) brings six students from Germany, Lithuania, Romania and Latvia to Riga. ACE RISE is designed to strengthen students' civic participation, intercultural competence and social responsibility, and the Latvian Academy of Culture is one of the hosting institutions this year.
From 10 to 16 August, four volunteers will take part as gallery assistants at the contemporary art space TUR_telpa in the Tallinas Quarter, while two will work at Rīgas Cirks from 10 to 17 August as part of the street art festival Re:Rīga!. The student volunteers have come from four Alliance partner institutions: Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (Germany), Lietuvos Inžinerijos Kolegija (Lithuania), Universitatea Constantin Brâncuși (Romania) and the Latvian Academy of Culture.
In addition to their practical work, all participants have completed a 25-hour online course on civic responsibility, solidarity and intercultural communication. Upon successful completion of the programme, each volunteer receives a 2 ECTS certificate.
We wish all six volunteers an inspiring and enriching experience in Riga!
