ACE_RISE (Reach, Inspire, Serve, Engage) is an international volunteering programme of the ACE²-EU European University Alliance, developed by the SPACE Centre team in collaboration with Alliance partners. The programme aims to strengthen students’ civic engagement, solidarity and social responsibility by providing opportunities to gain hands-on volunteering experience in an international environment.
The programme combines a 25-hour online course (MOOC) on volunteering, European values, solidarity, social responsibility and communication with an eight-day international mobility, during which students undertake volunteer work with one of the ACE²-EU partner organisations. Opportunities are available across a range of fields, including culture and the creative industries, social care, education and public administration. Students who successfully complete both components of the programme receive 2 ECTS credits and a certificate. For students of the Latvian Academy of Culture, participation in the volunteering programme may also be recognised as part of their traineeship.
Applications are still open for selected 2026 volunteering activities taking place from October to November. Students interested in participating can contact ACE_RISE Programme Coordinator Asnāte Kalēja. The full list of activities and their descriptions is available in the digital catalogue on the ACE²-EU website: https://www.ace2eu.eu/ace-rise/
