Baltic culture and health professionals begin training in a new interdisciplinary training course

On September 23-24, the introductory module of the micro-qualification course "Culture and Health: Managing Cross-Sectoral Initiatives" took place in Kaunas, bringing together 22 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. For the first time in the Baltics, professionals from various fields – cultural workers, healthcare specialists and social sector representatives – come together to learn new skills and build cooperation that will help improve the well-being of society through cultural activities in the future.

Young Researchers Explore Outdoor Games as Intangible Cultural Heritage

Do you remember childhood games such as "hide-and-seek", "tag"? Perhaps there were even unique games invented and played only in your own courtyard? A team of young researchers from the Latvian Academy of Culture has launched fieldwork for the research project “Outdoor games: research and actualization of intangible cultural heritage in contemporary Latvia” As part of this project, they are asking these and other questions to study outdoor games as a part of Latvia’s intangible cultural heritage. The research explores the social and cultural-historical significance of these games and considers ways they can be preserved and revitalized in today’s society.

Representatives of the Latvian Academy of Culture Participate in the ACE²-EU Alliance International Meeting in Kaunas

From 15 to 19 September in Kaunas, at Lietuvos Inžinerijos Kolegija, the European University Alliance ACE²-EU partner and international affairs leaders’ meeting is taking place. The Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) is represented by the leaders of the Alliance’s Mobility and Values work package Ilze Beimane and Signe Bahšteina, Head of the Study Department Dana Daugule, Student Affairs Officer Paula Dārta Lāce, as well as LAC students Sanija Puriņa and Indra Una Riekstiņa.
