From Sustainable Agriculture to Healthy Lifestyle Communication: LAC Lecturer Participates in ACE²-EU Programme in Poland

From 8 to 12 June, the ACE²-EU European University Alliance intensive programme “Fruit and Vegetables – Sustainable Cultivation, Diet and Health Impact” is taking place in Poland, Medical University of Gdańsk, bringing together students and academic staff from the Alliance partner universities. The Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) is represented in the programme by Aija Lūse, Director of the Master’s Programme “Cultural and Arts Management” and Lecturer at LAC.

Cultural and Arts Management Students Address Key Issues in the Cultural Sector Through Their Master’s Theses

On 5 June 2026, ten students of the academic Master’s study programme “Cultural and Arts Management” at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) defended their final theses. This year’s master’s theses stand out for their thematic diversity, ranging from cultural participation and well-being to personal branding, diplomacy, and community identity. The theses also demonstrate how closely cultural processes are connected to contemporary societal development and change.

2nd International Congress of Transcultural Studies in Riga

The 2nd International Congress on Transcultural Studies will take place in Riga from June 30 to July 2, 2026. Coordinated as a joint project by three European universities—the Latvian Academy of Culture in Riga, the University of Macerata in Italy, and the KU Leuven in Belgium—this research initiative follows the 1st International Congress on Transcultural Studies held at the University of Macerata in 2025. This year, the congress focuses on the theme of Give and Take: Transdisciplinary Spaces of “Cohesive Netting”, ranging from concepts of Glocal History to Digitalization, Augmented Reality, and AI Techniques.

ACE²-EU Experts Meet at the Latvian Academy of Culture to Discuss Mobility and the Integration of European Values in Higher Education

On 8–9 June 2026, the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) is hosting a meeting of the “EU Values and Mobility” Action Group (WP6) of the ACE²-EU European University Alliance, bringing together representatives from partner universities across nine European countries. Over the course of two days, participants will discuss the development of student and staff mobility, the integration of European Union values into international study and mobility programmes, as well as new collaboration and funding opportunities within the ACE²-EU Alliance.

From Audience Insights to Marketing Concepts: LAC Master’s Students Develop Ideas for the Museum of Literature and Music

How can a museum become not only visible in the digital environment but also personally meaningful to different audiences? How can communication move beyond simply providing information and inspire people to engage, participate, and return? These were the questions explored by first-year students of the Master’s programme “Cultural and Arts Management” at the Latvian Academy of Culture during the course “Cultural and Digital Marketing”, in collaboration with the Latvian National Museum of Literature and Music.
