Representatives of the Latvian Academy of Culture Participate in a Conference on the Governance and Cooperation of European University Alliances in Gdańsk
From 14 to 16 May 2025, the Medical University of Gdańsk will host an international conference bringing together representatives of the European University Alliance ACE²-EU. The aim of the event is to foster synergy between the activities of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and the initiatives carried out within the ACE²-EU Alliance, while also strengthening cooperation and planning future joint projects.
The Latvian Academy of Culture will be represented at the conference by Rector Dāvis Sīmanis, Vice-Rector for Studies Agnese Hermane, and ACE²-EU working group members Ieva Zemīte, Vita Dumpe, Kamilla Kūna, and Aija Lūse.
The event will also include contributions from representatives of the University of Gdańsk (a member of the SEA-EU Alliance) and the Gdańsk University of Technology (a member of the ENHANCE Alliance), who will share best practices in alliance governance, with particular focus on strengthening inter-institutional cooperation. The conference will also feature working meetings of ACE²-EU partners, panel discussions on alliance-related challenges, and a visit to the European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk.
The conference will conclude on May 16 with Diversity Day, held at the GUMed Sports Center – a celebration bringing together conference participants and the university community to honor cultural diversity and promote an inclusive academic environment. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional foods from various countries, live performances, national costumes, and artistic displays. This symbolic closing event embodies the core values of the ACE²-EU Alliance – cooperation, openness, and unity within the international academic space.
