Latvian Academy of Culture Joins International Partners in Bonn to Launch "OUR COMMON GARDEN" Project
On March 30 and 31, LAC Associate Professor Ivo Briedis, Director of the Production and Marketing Department Kristīne Freiberga, and Development Project Manager Kristīne Bramberga traveled to Bonn, Germany, to participate in the kick-off event and strategic planning for the project OUR COMMON GARDEN. The project partners include "fringe ensemble" (Germany), Teatro Stabile del Veneto (Italy), and Vilnius University (Lithuania), and the project is supported by the EU’s Creative Europe programme.
The project’s conceptual foundation is based on French landscape architect and philosopher Gilles Clément’s concept of the world as a shared garden, emphasizing shared responsibility, diversity, coexistence, and continuous change. In this project, Europe is approached as a common space where collaboration, care, and community-building are essential.
As part of the project, three parallel long-term performances will take place in November 2027 at art museums in Latvia, Germany, and Italy, alongside the creation of a public project archive and a podcast. In Riga, special attention will be given to emerging artists, involving students from the Latvian Academy of Culture as well as young professionals.
